I am a consultant psychiatrist specialising in older adult's mental health. I qualified in Medicine from the University of Leeds in 2003, having also completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Sciences. I then did some basic training in geriatric medicine before commencing my psychiatric training within the St Mary’s Training Scheme. Whilst at St Mary’s, I completed a teaching fellowship and was seconded to the Department of Health as a clinical advisor to the NHS Medical Director. I have also undertaken training in family and systemic therapy within the Institute of Family Therapy.

I have been a consultant psychiatrist at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust since 2011, as well as a lead clinician for both community and in-patient services. I work within the Older Adults Community Mental Health Team covering Westminster and I provide input to our Home Treatment Team, which manages patients dealing with a mental health crisis. I am also the Training Programme Director for newly qualified doctors coming into psychiatry. I am an executive member of the Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

I am an honorary lecturer in psychiatry at Imperial College London. My interests are family therapy as well as medical education. My latest book Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias has been selected for the ‘Books on Prescription’ scheme which promotes reading materials for people experiencing memory problems and the people that care for them.

I welcome new private patients in Central London and accept self-referrals, referrals from general practitioners as well as instructions from solicitors.  I would prefer to see you at your own home because it enables a more comprehensive assessment and it is often more convenient for you. Alternatively, appointments can take place in several consulting rooms across Central London.

I use the latest diagnostic techniques to assess your symptoms and, if necessary, can draw from a plethora of treatment options.

I aim to see you in a matter of days, and send my letter or report within a week after the appointment.

I strive to fit my service around you, scheduling appointments where and when suits you best.
